Write by the Lake Conference Director Christine DeSmet has some good news for me to pass along:
Literary agent Elizabeth Evans, of the Jean Naggar Literary Agency, New York City, will present a workshop at the Monday luncheon of the 15th Annual Write-by-the-Lake Writer’s Workshop & Retreat, June 17-21, 2013.
Elizabeth will focus on tips for first chapters and first pages for all writers—fiction and creative nonfiction. She’ll also give tips for query letters and marketing.
The Jean Naggar Literary Agency represents a wide range of fiction and nonfiction writers.
The Write-by-the-Lake Writer’s Workshop & Retreat features 12 sections or topics to choose from, including two Master Classes for full novel critique during the week. The retreat is for all writers of fiction (including YA and children’s picture books), creative nonfiction, memoir, and poetry.
Fee: $345 for most sections; $750 for advanced novel Master Classes. The retreat meets 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St., Madison. The retreat offers 1-3 optional graduate credits in English for a special, low additional fee. Lodging is on your own. Registration: 608-262-2451.
