Don’t miss out! This is the last week to sign up for critique groups at Weekend With Your Novel. The annual writing retreat hosted by the UW-Madison Division of Continuing Studies is fast approaching, but there’s still time to register. This year, the retreat is November 13-15, and the theme is “Start to Finish.” As always the weekend offers exciting and informative sessions for writers of all levels and at all stages of your novel. We have sessions full of tips, techniques, and fresh perspectives on writing the novel, and you can look forward to an inspiring weekend with fellow writers, experienced novelists, teachers, agents, and editors.
New this year, we’ll begin with a Friday afternoon workshop on the critically acclaimed novel, Shotgun Lovesongs. The keynote address, at 6:30 that evening, will be given by Nicklolas Butler, author of Shotgun Lovesongs.
The deadline to sign up for a critique group is this Friday, October 23, so don’t miss out! There are still a few spaces available in the critique groups where you can get honest and professional feedback on an excerpt of your novel. Critique group leaders this year include some past instructors and some new ones as well: Christine DeSmet, Kathy Steffen, Tim Storm, Kristin Oakley, Angela Rydell, and Christopher Chambers. It’s not too late to register, or to see if you have a friend and fellow writer who might come with you!
We’re looking forward to the weekend and hope you’ll be able to join us in Madison next month.
